'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the dramatic closing stages of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative strike from 25 yards, and the defender immediately hammered in the rebound before sprinting toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with supporters congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory capped an unbelievable turnaround given the team had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. In the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a next round match at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's long-range effort from about way out going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right defensive wing after Orient changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way Orient approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they always find their target and they know how to control and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're all right and then without warning they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even spotting it. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Orient and has swiftly replicated that in his new home. At his previous team he reunited with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford City, before he departed his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without serious challenge. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for his national side, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including home and away encounters against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Starting Out

It has been an incredible journey for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who used to see his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

His single match for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to the weather of -15C. "It was a extended travel and it was cold out there," he comments, smiling. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "This turned out quite easy, because I got to the stage where I understood I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

It is the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a minibus driven by club employees, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's pleasant to spend time with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the following person out of the minibus and on the road. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on public transport after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
